Funlayo Grace Consulting Arm Partners with Local Nonprofit and EmblemHealth to Support Black Maternal Health Initiative
In a collaborative effort to address the critical issue of Black maternal health, Funlayo Grace's consulting arm has teamed up with a local nonprofit and healthcare powerhouse EmblemHealth for the years 2023 and 2024. This initiative, aimed at raising awareness and promoting access to quality maternal healthcare, brings together a diverse coalition of partners committed to driving positive change.
EmblemHealth, serving over 3 million people in New York City and the tri-state area, brings extensive expertise and resources to the table, making them a valuable partner in this important endeavor. Together with Rebecca’s Little Survivors Foundation leading the way, Funlayo Grace and esteemed organizations such as One Hundred Black Men of New York, NYC Black Women Political Club, NY State Assemblyman Charles Fall, NYC Public Advocate's Office, and many more, the coalition is poised to make a significant impact on maternal health outcomes.
As part of the initiative, plans are underway for the 2nd Annual Let's Live Black Maternal Health Brunch and Expo, slated for October 2024. This event, set to be hosted in a prime city and location, will serve as a platform to raise awareness, share resources, and advocate for policies that prioritize the health and well-being of Black mothers and their babies.
"We are excited to collaborate with EmblemHealth and our esteemed partners to advance the cause of Black maternal health," said Jennifer Grace Jennings. By leveraging our collective expertise and resources, we are committed to driving meaningful change and ensuring that every Black mother has access to the quality care and support she deserves."
As the coalition continues to work towards its goals, the focus remains on amplifying the voices of Black mothers, addressing systemic barriers to care, and advocating for policies that promote equity and justice in maternal healthcare. Together, they are forging a path towards a healthier, more equitable future for Black families across the nation.
